L’ANTONIO GALLARDO I GARRIGA (Barcelona, 18/04/1889 – 16/06/1942), li poso la O al nom, perquè com en el meu cas, en aquella època no es permetia la inscripció al Registre Civil de noms en altres llengües que no fossin el castellà –  “ ells “ en diuen espanyol – . La Constitució de 1978 però, l’anomena correctament castellà.   Retratava , Pati interior i edificis de Les Oliveres. Sant Llorenç  Savall.

El projecte del Fons Estudi de la Masia Catalana va ser ideat i finançat per l'industrial i mecenes Rafael Patxot i Jubert (1872-1964), que encarregà el seu desenvolupament al Centre Excursionista de Catalunya sota la direcció de l'arquitecte Josep Danés i Torras (1895-1955).

El seu objectiu era aprofundir en el coneixement de la masia catalana, tot decidint fixar imatges del masos i el seu entorn en un ventall impressionant de fotografies, amb la finalitat de publicar una gran obra, en la qual la masia fos estudiada sota diversos aspectes: arquitectura, mobiliari, indumentària i comportament humà i social.  Sens dubte hagués estat un treball excepcional, en el que es recollirien els testimonis gràfics d’un món rural, que desapareixeria irremissiblement.

Aquesta tasca iniciada l'any 1923 quedà interrompuda l'any 1936, en marxar Patxot a l'exili, passada la contesa bèl·lica, la dictadura posaria tots els entrebancs possibles, àdhuc l’alteració de les fons documentals,  per evitar que la continuïtat del projecte.    El franquisme, salvant les distàncies, seria tant o més demolidor per la cultura, catalana i no catalana,  que l’acció del sionisme sobre Palestina.

L’esforç potser va ser gegantí, no ho dubto, la planificació del treball però, va ser – ho diré de forma políticament correcta – un desastre.

 Tenim els mitjans tècnics i humans per dur a terme el propòsit del Fons Estudi de la Masia Catalana, només cal que ens ho proposem, oi?.  Feu fotografies de masies, les identifiqueu, nom, lloc  i data i ho envieu a mdc@csuc.cat i a castellardiari@gmail.com , nosaltres ho publicarem  fent esment de  l’autor de les fotografies.

 Si vius en un indret on tenen una llengua pròpia,  aprèn-la, enraona-la, defensa-la, no siguis estranger al teu propi país.
